From Miriam Smith update from last week:
Carla who was a victim in a hold-up shooting in the Phillipines was discharged on Monday and is doing quite well. She was shot in the back. The bullet went through the seat of the van and punctured her lung, diaphram and liver. Carla was bleeding internally and profusely. Thank God, she survived it all. Her surgeon told me on Monday, that Carla squeezed his hand so hard and said, "Doctor please save my life. I have two small children". Carla's chances were 70/30. I thank God first of all, Carla's strength and will to live and her great team of doctors for saving her. My family and I thank you all once again. We need more of your prayers to make her stronger and healthy.

> I need all of my friends praying for my sister Sue. She was

> She is having a bone marrow test done today to see if she needs a

> Needless to say we are all in shock and disbelief. They transferred

Lance Cpl. Chris LeBleu has passed away. His liver was failing and he'd been taken to the hospital as he also was dealing with a bout of pneumonia. Please pray for his family, especially his wife Melany.
Please pray for Ann Wilkie who fell and broke her hip.
From Miriam Smith: I would like to ask everyone to pray for my cousin, Carla Jose. Carla was a victim of a hold-up shooting that happened in the Philippines. She is recovering very slowly from liver surgery and internal bleeding. Please pray for her family - her parents, husband, and young children.
From Lisa Herda: I am requesting prayers for the healing of my mother, Melanie Miller, who just broke her hip. She is now in rehab and I'm hoping for a quick recovery so she can come home. Thank you.
From Aixa Feliciano: Please keep Luis, my husband, in your prayers as he continues to recover and gain strength and stamina from his heart surgery awhile back.
From Darlene Hart: My Aunt Angie was transferred from her rehab facility to Good Samaritan Hospital a few days ago. We've been notified that her body has begun to shut down and she has elected to go into hospice care at her apartment in Franciscan Village. Please keep her in your prayers. We don't know how long her body will continue to work, but the doctor's don't expect it to be for more than a month -- probably less. And comfort for her family.
From Larry: For the repose of the soul of Vicky Bale, the Haiti volunteer who was so sick. Continued prayers for Joan Tate who was moved out of ICU. For my friend Roger Porzig as he travels to Baton Rouge for 6 weeks to work with FEMA. For him and his family during this separation.
Thank you all for your prayers on the behalf of these requests. God Bless you all,
Our prayers are helping. Keep them up: Update from Sandy about her sister: Don't really have a whole lot new to report, but felt I should update something. They have moved her out of her hospital room down to the long term care unit. She's currently in a 4 bed room, therefore Mom is unable to stay over night with her. However she gets up and there as early as possible every day. When they called yesterday they were outside in the garden.
Wound vac treatment continues with no suggestion of it being removed. The doctor had left it on for 4 days instead of 3 last time, thinking it was doing so well, but on the 4th day found that had been a mistake, so they are continuing with the 3 day regiment.
I do not believe further chemo will be an option. Scott is pushing for this, but the doctor is pretty stern on his stance that there will be no more. Jayle is eating more on her own, feeling her perky self for the most part; they have changed the pain medication to straight oxycontin, in pill and patch form. She has had a few episodes where the spasms have involved the total body rather than just her legs now.
That’s about it. Thank you for your continued prayers.
Sandy
From Karen: Please pray for my friend Laurie and her family as she continues to battle cancer. Laurie just received news from Mayo Clinic that her latest test results were not good. She is starting on a new course of treatment. She has two young children. She has amazing faith but she needs our prayers.
From Marsha Meyer: I had a heart catheter ablation this past Wednesday, August 1st. Please pray that all goes well. Thank you.
From Sonia Rivera: Just to let my brothers and sisters in Christ know that as of now I am scheduled to have my surgery @mayo clinic on Monday August 6th. At this time I am feeling quite well, other than a slight stomach virus that is making me feel a little odd with some discomfort and light headed. They will be leaving me over night and then go home the next day. I will be staying with my parents until I feel strong enough to resume my duties. In Christ Lord, your friend in Christ.
From Barbara Stephens: Msgr. Jordan has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He is with relativesi n Ormond Beach. Please pray for him.
From Cathy WIndish: Please pray for the repose of Terry Arnold's son, Matthew, age 34, died very unexpectedly on 7/24. May God give her and her family the strength they need to carry this cross.
From John Reilly: Friends, I'd like to offer a quick prayer for my father, Bill, on his 75th birthday-- for his continued good health, happiness, and well-being. May he be blessed as he has been the vehicle of God's blessing to so many. I also ask our Father in heaven to hear his humble prayers, and if in accordance with God's will, generously grant them. Amen

From John Reilly: Please pray for Nelson McArthur, one of my Kairos buddies. He had an emergency surgery today to repair a perforated duodenal ulcer. He was already in Baptist Hospital recovering from knee-replacement surgery performed Monday. As of 6:30 PM Friday: Nelson's vital signs are improving, and the oxygen level for the ventilator was reduced today. He remains in the critical-care unit - on the ventilator, and heavily sedated for the next few days
From Sandy Logue: For the repose of the soul of Vicky Bale, a volunteer to Haiti who taught ultrasound during a six month stay. She had a rare brain disorder that about 300 people in the U.S. a year get
From Kathy: Last Wednesday the doctors told David that the donor cells were not taking hold. That is why I sent everyone an email to get everyone they could to pray.
They started David on another round of chemotherapy on Thursday, he will go everyday for 10 days. His white cell count had jumped to 17,000. He was down to 11,000 after his first chemo session on Thursday. They did not do another blood test today. They will do another tomorrow. I will let everyone know when I hear. They told him if this did not work there was no hope and that he could have only 2 months.........
From Marge: Here is the most current update on my great-niece, Grace. The family is sure that we have witnessed a miracle, in that prayer returned such a sick little one to us, with an excellent prognosis for continued healing and a long and happy life. Grace is a lovely 11 year old who plays Golf, Tennis, Violin, Piano, etc. and is accomplished in all of these areas. She has skipped a grade and is in all advanced classes. In addition to her obvious intelligence she is a sweet, compassionate person. On the evening before her surgery, she left the Ronald McDonald House with her parents and returned home in Ormond Beach so that she could make cookies for the children who were residing there. She has been a blessing to us all since she arrived 11 years ago, and through this tribulation we have learned to treasure her (and each other) even more than we did before. Thank you for your kind wishes and concern. Please continue to remember us in your prayers
Dear Friends of Fr. Carmel,
Recently Fr. Carmel has asked your prayers for our son Ryan.
As some of you know Ryan had a cancerous tumor removed from his abdomen in 1998 when he was three months old.
During his last regular check up in June the doctor noticed another lump in his abdomen. We were afraid the cancer had returned. We asked our family and friends to pray with us that this would not be the case. Ryan already deals with Autism and he is a very special, loving little boy to all who know him.
Ryan had an ultra sound and a check up by his Oncologist a week later at DuPont Hospital. To our great relief our prayers were answered and no lump was detected. Thank God!
We are greatful for the prayers that were said on Ryan's behalf from all of you.
Thank you Fr. Carmel.
Sincerely,
Russell and Judy Baji

IT'S OFFICIAL
Word has come to the FRIENDS OF FATHER CARMEL, that our beloved priest has finally been given a new assignment. Beginning on July 15, 2007 he will be known as:
Father Carmel Polidano
Administrator
St. Anthony of Padua Church
Hammonton, NJ
This has been a long time coming and would not have been made possible without the constant prayers and support of all of Father's friends, the parishioners of his former parishes - especially Mary Mother in Bellmawr - and people from all over the world that have learned of Father's ordeal. People from every continent on earth have connected to this site and read our story.
We would like to thank you, and all those fellow priests and religious who supported him - especially Father Jerome Romanowski - who gave him a church to call home during these past two years.
Finally, a man of God may once again grace the altar of his own parish and continue the work he set out to do 26 years ago.
We hope and pray that the parishioners of Saint Anthony's will welcome Father with open arms and with an open heart. They are getting a great Administrator, a holy and devout Priest, a loyal friend, and most importantly a true man of God.
May God continue to bless you, Father Carmel.

Dear Friends of Father Carmel,
"Thank you for your generous donation to the Guy Cella Jr. Fund. Our fundraiser was a great success, thanks to people like you!"
The Cella Family
ANTHONY SAYS, "THANK YOU"
Anthony Denisi recently held a benefit for his cousin, Guy Cella. Although many Friends of Father Carmel could not attend, they still felt compelled to make donations. To date, the FOFC have sent little Guy, $450 towards his treatments.
Anthony said he appreciates our efforts very much and continues to support Father Carmel. Thanks!
Anthony is someone who was there for Father Carmel when he had no place to take and store
his belongings and statues, etc. that had been accumulated over his 25 years as a priest. Anthony, who did not even know Father, when hearing of his situation, was deeply touched and wanted to help. He took care of Father's storage needs for free until he could get situated. When Anthony called about the fundraiser, Father and his "friends" were only too glad to help out.

Guy Cella Jr.
Little Guy is now 8 years old. He has been going for Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments (HBO) and Cranial Sacral Therapy (Alternative Medicine) since he was 2 years old. The only place that offers these treatments for people with cerebral palsy is in Lancaster, PA.
Little Guy is diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, Cortical Blindness and Microcephaly. We were able to keep Guy going for these treatments with various fundraisers and family help. To date, Guy has received these treatments for two weeks at a time, two times a year (more would be beneficial to his well being). After receiving these treatments, we see improvement in vision; he can focus now, before he could not. His muscles become very tight from the spasms caused by his illness and the HBO treatments have loosened muscles substantially. Unfortunately, he needs treatments on a continual basis to keep his muscles loose. He also is more alert and aware after treatments. Medical insurance will not cover Hyperbaric Oxygen treatments for patients with cerebral palsy and has been considered “experimental” since 1972. As a result of the denial of insurance coverage, all costs for treatment, therapy, meals and lodging for the two-week sessions are out of pocket. Your support will assist Little Guy with the treatments he needs to make his daily life more comfortable and improve his overall existence. The treatments, without lodging, cost $2,500 per two-week session.
You can also send donations directly to the center to be used for Guy Cella Jr.
Send to:

Thank you all for your generosity! Little Guy and his family are very grateful to you. God bless you and your families.
