Father Carmel Polidano was born in Malta on October 24, 1952. He has been a priest for 26 years, having celebrated his 26th anniversary on February 10, 2007.  He attended Sacred Heart Seminary and Archbishop Seminary, both in Malta.  He was ordained in Gozo, Malta by Bishop Guilfoyle of the Camden diocese on that same date in 1981.

 

     In his 26 years Father Polidano has served at Transfiguration in West Collingswood (1981), Sacred Heart in Vineland (1981-1985), Saint Peter in Merchantville (1985-1988), Saint Lawrence in Lindenwold (1988-1989), Saint Raymond in the Villas (1989-1993), Saint Michael in Gibbstown (1993), Saint Jude in Blackwood (1993-1999), Bishop McCarthy Residence (1999-2001). He served as pastor at Saint Mary Magdalene (2001-2004) and at Mary, Mother of the Church in Bellmawr (2004-2005).

 

     Father Carmel was retired by Bishop Joseph Galante of Camden in October of 2005.  He is currently beginning a new assignment as Administrator of St. Anthony of Padua in Hammonton.
